Deep industry knowledge led to urgent support on governance issue

12 November 2022

We had been working with a large member owned not-for-profit on their intellectual property matters for a couple of years when they approached us about an urgent governance issue – a staff member was leaving unexpectedly less than four weeks before their Annual General Meeting.

The client required a mix of business law and governance advice, and we were able to identify people in our broader team with the expertise and experience to assist.

Using our deep understanding of the clients’ industry and the strong relationships we had developed with stakeholders within the organisation, we were able to quickly step in and support the client through this challenging time.

Our relationship with this client has since grown into a dual governance and external ‘in house legal’ counsel role, which we provide via an innovative retainer arrangement. This model ensures cost certainty, a reduction in legal spend and access to our wide range of services.
